"Going for IPO" conference

On December, the 8th, 2010, ”Going for IPO” conference, organised by PwC and InterCapital was held at Zagreb’s Westin hotel. The conference gave the attendees an overview of the IPO process as well as of the current conditions on the regional capital markets.

 

”Going for IPO” Conference presented IPO as an interesting financing alternative for companies, in the light of the recovering equity markets and bank lending which is still expensive and hard to obtain. The gathered professionals have concluded that good companies currently have an opportunity to tap into capital markets but that the IPO process requires plenty of preparatory work on organisational, financial and strategic issues.

Conference was attended by numerous professionals represetning a number of Croatian and regional companies where they were given an overview of the IPO process, including pre-IPO work, the preparation and execution as well as post-IPO duties and responsibilities.

PwC and InterCapital presented the financial, operational and other conditions that have to be met in order to become an IPO candidate, the IPO process and key sucess factors. The audience had an opportunity to gain insights on the expenses that the IPO entails as well as the valuation techiniques used by bankers and investors

Representatives from the Zagreb, Vienna and Warsaw stock exchanges took part in a panel discussion regarding the current conditions and the outlook for their respective markets.

The conference was concluded with a presentation by Atlantic group which shared with investors the experince of its IPO in 2007 which to date is the biggest stock offering of a private company in Croatia.
